Connie and Nasley are happy to host this beginner camping talk where we will go over some basic camping etiquette and hacks as well as share experience on taking kids into the wilderness.
We are happy to add special guest Morgan Evans of East Bay Regional Parks to this conversation.
If you've only been camping a few times or have never been camping before this is the perfect talk for you to get your feet wet, ask questions, and start adventuring.
Connie has been an avid camper for a few years now and has completed the Girl Scout Camp Certification program, in which she learned practical and hands on skills, risk assessment, and trip planning.
Nasley is passionate about outdoor education and making space for all families to enjoy the outdoors too. She also has undergone Girls Scout Camp Certification and has many camping and a few backpacking trips worth of experience to share.
Morgan Evans works for the East Bay Regional Park District as a Recreation Coordinator in charge of the Park’n It Day Camp and Adventure Crew programs. Morgan began her career in the Park District in 2008 as a Docent for the Tilden Nature Area. In 2008 she joined the ISA staff while working on her Ranger/Naturalist Certificate. Her many roles also include Docent at the Regional Parks Botanic Garden, Naturalist Aide, and as Recreation Leader IV for the NPRS award winning CO-OP program. Morgan also holds an Associates Degree in the Culinary Arts and loves to merge her two interests, the outdoors and food! She is a Certified Interpretive Guide through NAI. She loves backpacking, botanizing and foraging for wild edibles.
